NEA Big Read Kick-Off Event: Emily Dickinson

The NEA Big Read, which builds community through the shared experience of reading, discussion, and creative exploration, kicks off its 2026–27 season with a celebration of The Essential Emily Dickinson! Featuring opening remarks by the Arizona America250 Commission Executive Director, Laura Terech, pop-up talks by Phoenix Poet Laureate Rosemarie Dombrowski, PhD., hands-on poetry activities, seed planting, free books, snacks, and giveaways, this free all-ages event invites participants to discover one of America's most influential poets and connect through the power of literature, creation, and vulnerability.
