City of Phoenix and Rio Reimagined Mark Earth Month with Volunteer Salt River Clean-Up on Saturday, April 11

6000 South 91st Avenue, Tolleson, Arizona – in the Salt Riverbed, adjacent to the Tres Rios Wetlands, 1.25 miles south of Broadway Road. Parking is available on the west side of 91st Avenue between Broadway and Baseline.

As part of Earth Month 2026, Rio Reimagined, in partnership with the City of Phoenix, Arizona State University, and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), will host a large volunteer cleanup of the Salt River on Saturday, April 11.

Media will have opportunities to capture visuals of volunteers removing debris, clearing invasive stinknet vegetation, and restoring habitat along the Salt River corridor. Interview opportunities with volunteers and officials will also be available.

Phoenix Water Services Assistant Director Nazario Prieto, representatives from ADEQ, and partners from ASU’s Rio Reimagined initiative will deliver welcome remarks before volunteers deploy.
