The Water Services Department (WSD) is looking for students working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree that are interested in Municipal Utility Management work experience. Interns participate in the daily operations while working on individualized projects defined by the hiring division. The formalized program will enable the intern to acquire leadership skills with a mentor, learn project management, network, and gain exposure to utility operations. The goal is to provide a tailored learning experience amongst WSD and generate new interest in our municipality.
Internships may be offered in administrative areas, or more technical areas such as environmental services, water conservation, or plant operations. Up to three internships may be available per semester.
Most internships will be located at Phoenix City Hall, with some opportunities to work at a Water Production or Wastewater Treatment Plant. Fall and Spring semester internships are 5-20 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 p.m. Summer semester internships are 20-40 hours per week.
