SEMICON West Announces Long-Term Partnership with Phoenix
SEMICON West, one of the semiconductor industry’s most influential global conferences, announced a long-term partnership with Phoenix where the event will be held each spring beginning in 2027.
The Phoenix Convention Center will host the newly reimagined spring edition of SEMICON West, with additional dates already confirmed through 2029. The move, announced by SEMI on July 30, reflects the industry association’s strategy to align the event with Arizona’s rapidly expanding semiconductor ecosystem.
For Phoenix, landing SEMICON West is a major win, one that underscores the city’s continued momentum on the national and international stage.
“SEMICON West further cements Phoenix’s status as the center of America’s semiconductor industry, and we're excited to welcome attendees to be part of shaping the world's most advanced technologies,” Mayor Kate Gallego said. "Home to America's largest economic deal with TSMC's $265 billion investment, leadership in quantum and advanced computing, and now with SEMICON West's convening power, Phoenix continues to build the model for a high-wage, resilient economy."
“While we have valued our many years in San Francisco, moving SEMICON West to Phoenix each spring beginning in 2027 brings the event closer to Arizona’s expanding semiconductor ecosystem while balancing our global SEMICONschedule,” said Joe Stockunas, president, SEMI Americas. “The fantastic response to our inaugural SEMICON West in Phoenix reinforced the opportunity to build on that momentum and make the move long term.”
“This announcement further solidifies Phoenix’s position as a premier destination for conventions and major industry gatherings,” said Jerry Harper, director of the Phoenix Convention Center & Venues. “We’re proud of our partnership with SEMI and of the success of the SEMICON West event we hosted in 2025. Our team is committed to making every event more memorable than the last, and we look forward to welcoming SEMICON West back to downtown Phoenix next spring.”
Ron Price, president and CEO of Visit Phoenix, emphasized the significance of securing such a high‑profile, globally recognized event.
"As Phoenix's Destination Marketing Organization, we are honored that SEMICON has chosen to establish Phoenix as the home of its global conference," said Ron Price, president and CEO of Visit Phoenix. "Over the past five years, Greater Phoenix has experienced remarkable growth in the advanced manufacturing and technology sectors, further strengthening our position as a global hub for innovation. That momentum, combined with our renowned venues, accessibility, and proven ability to host events of this scale, makes Phoenix the ideal destination for SEMICON West and the global semiconductor industry."
Its permanent relocation is a resounding confirmation of what the region has demonstrated for years: the Valley’s micro-electronics sector is surging, and the Phoenix Convention Center is built to deliver world‑class experiences.
“Last year, the world experienced what makes Greater Phoenix the most comprehensive semiconductor ecosystem in the country. The positive feedback was a powerful reminder of how the region excels when we work together on these global events,” said Christine Mackay, President & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC). “By shifting the conference location permanently, SEMI is moving in tandem with the evolution of the industry. We are honored and thrilled to launch a new era of SEMICON West.”
"Phoenix is grateful that SEMI has made our city the permanent home for SEMICON West's annual conference,” said Phoenix Community and Economic Development Director Ryan Touhill. “This announcement cements Phoenix's position as a national hub for the semiconductor industry, building on our efforts to develop a strong workforce pipeline, deliver speed to market, and grow the industry density that companies are looking for. We're excited to welcome 35,000 of the industry's decision-makers and innovators back to Phoenix every year and look forward to showcasing our city as a global leader in advanced manufacturing.”
SEMICON West will take place in Phoenix March 30 to April 1in 2027.
