Councilwoman Laura Pastor to Host Phoenix Bike to Work Day 2026

Council District 4 News Release

PHOENIX — For the second year in a row, Councilwoman Laura Pastor will host Phoenix Bike to Work Day, bringing together residents, community organizations, and local partners for a morning ride through the heart of the city on Thursday, April 23.

Last year, when Bike to Work Day was at risk of not happening, Councilwoman Pastor stepped in—working quickly to bring partners together, secure sponsorships, and coordinate a citywide ride from the ground up. What started as a challenge became an opportunity to build something stronger: a collaborative event powered by local organizations, advocates, and volunteers.

“This event is about showing what’s possible when community comes together,” Councilwoman Pastor said. “We didn’t wait—we organized, we partnered, and we made it happen. And now we’re building on that momentum.”

The 2026 ride will feature a 3-mile group ride from Steele Indian School Park into Downtown Phoenix, highlighting the city’s growing network of protected bike lanes and the importance of continued investment in safe, connected infrastructure. Riders of all experience levels are encouraged to participate.

This year’s event is made possible through partnerships with organizations including Urban Phoenix Project, Downtown Phoenix Inc., the City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department, Valley Metro, and other community partners who have come together to support a more connected and accessible Phoenix.

In addition to the ride, attendees can expect community resources, giveaways, and opportunities to connect with local organizations working to advance active transportation across Phoenix.
