Phoenix launches a Citywide food drive to assist residents experiencing food insecurity during the holidays.
Fire Department Recognized as the 2024 Arizona Early Childhood Regional Champion
On Monday, September 21st, the Phoenix Fire Department was honored to be recognized by First Things First and Senator Mark Kelly’s Office as the 2024 Arizona Early Childhood Regional Champion.
Vice Mayor Ann O’Brien and First Things First CEO Melinda Morrison Gulick both spoke at the event to recognize the Phoenix Fire Department’s work in the Community Risk Education and EMS departments. The collective work from these departments in child safety and prevention, specifically for children from age birth to five were honored with a plaque from Senator Kelly’s Office.
Key initiatives from the Phoenix Fire Department that were recognized for their positive impact on the community were the Immunizations, Water Safety, Car Seat Safety, Hot Car Safety and Pedestrian Safety programs/campaigns.
Fire Chief Mike Duran, members of the Phoenix Fire Department Executive Staff, Community Risk Education and EMS departments were all on hand for the ceremony.
The ceremony was free and open to the public at Goelet A Beuf Community Center and included several families in attendance.
