As the outbreak of COVID-19, commonly known as the novel coronavirus, continues to impact the Phoenix area, Phoenix Housing is taking extra precautionary measures to limit in-person interactions as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and asking our residents and partners to call, email or submit inquiries online rather than visit our offices.<br></p><span id="ms-rterangepaste-start"></span><p><strong style="font-size:14pt;">Temporary Changes at Section 8 Office</strong><br></p><p>Many of our families, landlords and staff are concerned about the spread of the coronavirus. In order to keep you and staff healthy and safe, we have implemented an appointment-only system effective<strong> Wednesday, April 1.</strong> You can make an appointment by calling or emailing the <a target="_blank" href="https://quadel.com/contact/#locs">Quadel Phoenix </a>staff directly. Or if you prefer, you can use the following contact information to request an appointment: S8appointment@phoenix.gov or 602-262-6040.​​​​<br></p><p><span id="ms-rterangepaste-start"></span>The Section 8 offices will be installing a secure drop box for participants to drop off information or they can send it electronically. In addition, the city will be paying all landlords timely through direct deposits (ACH payments) and is encouraging all landlords to sign up for electronic payments versus receiving a check.<span id="ms-rterangepaste-end"></span><br></p><span id="ms-rterangepaste-end"></span><p><strong style="font-size:14pt;">Temporary Changes at Public Housing Properties</strong><br></p> <strong>Until further notice</strong> Phoenix Housing has implemented the following precautions to protect its residents:<br> <ul> <li>Leasing offices open by appointment only - office numbers are listed below</li> <li>Suspension of Notices to Vacate and lease violations for non-criminal activity</li> <li>Suspension of evictions for non-criminal activity </li> <li>Suspension of routine work orders </li> <li>Maintenance staff still performing emergency work orders </li> <li>Suspension of housekeeping inspections</li> <li>Suspension of late fees</li> <li>Suspension of home visits and in-person appointments with caseworkers</li> <li>Suspension of all resident activities to include Community Meetings, Tenant Meetings, and Youth Activities</li> <li>Transfers, move-ins, move-outs processed on a case-by-case basis</li> <li>Existing repayment agreements will be extended </li> <li>Recertification deadlines will be extended</li> <li>Pest control services will temporarily be suspended in resident’s units (excluding health and safety)</li> </ul><p><strong>Residents are encouraged to call their property management office with questions:</strong><br>Fillmore Gardens - (602) 256-3144<br>Maryvale Parkway Terrace - (602) 262-1660<br>Pine Towers - (602) 256-3171<br>Sunnyslope Manor - (602) 262-4047<br>Luke Krohn - (602) 262-6973<br>Sidney P. Where can I find information about the Coronavirus?</strong><br>The Housing department has posted Centers for Disease Control and Prevention information and infographics regarding the Coronavirus at every housing site. If you have specific questions or concerns, talk to your property manager or call the Housing department at 602-262-6794.</p><p><strong>What preventive measures are being taken at city Housing properties?</strong><br>Housing staff has increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting the common areas in all its properties and maintenance staff is power washing all public housing playground equipment twice a day. They are also ensuring ample Personal Protective Equipment is available for them to continue providing essential services.<br></p><p><strong>Are city housing unit inspections continuing to take place as scheduled?</strong><br>The Housing Department has suspended non-essential unit inspections until further notice.</p><p><strong>Are maintenance work orders still being fulfilled at city housing properties? </strong><br>Continue to submit work order requests by calling 602-262-6794. On July 27, 2021, the CDC updated that guidance to require masking indoors in communities with substantial or high virus transmission rates, regardless of vaccination status. Effective Monday, August 2, 2021​, masks are required in all city buildings. Places are constantly changing, just like people. In this exhibit, learn about the non-destructive technologies that archaeologists use to show how a landscape has changed over time. The exhibit presents a case study of work done by Dr. Emily Fioccoprile, Dr. Matt Peeples, and colleagues at Arizona State University's Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve in north Phoenix. Voted a Phoenix Point of Pride and listed as a National Historic Landmark, the Museum offers two accessible interpretive trails on the prehistoric village site. Visitors view a platform mound, ballcourt and irrigation canals. Indoor exhibits feature artifacts from the site and hands-on activities for kids.
