City of Phoenix to Hire Over 200 Lifeguards for 2026 Pool Season
The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is officially kicking off the 2026 lifeguard recruitment season and will hire over 200 lifeguards to fill positions at Phoenix pools this summer.
Becoming a Phoenix lifeguard is a great opportunity for youth to earn extra cash, build leadership skills, and make a difference in their community, all while working outdoors in a fun, team-oriented environment. This year, the City of Phoenix is offering big hiring incentives:
- $1,000 bonus for Swim Instructors
- $750 bonus for Lifeguards
- $250 bonus for Cashiers
Interested parties should complete their lifeguard certification class as soon as possible. Certification classes are available now for $20 at select Phoenix pools, but spots fill quickly — do not wait! Applicants must become certified by March 20 to be eligible for an interview on March 21, 2026.
