Phoenix Public Library Launches Community Survey to Rename Library in Laveen
Following the Phoenix City Council’s decision on March 25 to rename the Cesar Chavez Library, Phoenix Public Library is initiating a process to select a new name for the Library in Laveen. Community engagement is an essential component of this initiative, and members of the public are invited to participate by providing input through an online survey.
Please visit PhoenixPublicLibrary.org for details regarding the naming process and to access the survey, which will remain open from April 13 through May 15, 2026. Select from the following naming options: Chaparral, Creosote, Manzanilla, Prickly Pear, and Senita. Voting will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026.
This opportunity allows community members to help determine the two finalist names. The top two selections will be presented to the Phoenix Library Advisory Board on May 20, 2026, with the final recommendation submitted to the Phoenix City Council for approval before the end of June.
