Giudice has spent nearly two decades in municipal government and has been an industry leader in public works infrastructure and environmental programs in Arizona.  During the past seven years in executive leadership at the city of Phoenix, Giudice’s visionary and proven track record has made him a respected industry leader. </span> </p> <p> <span style="background-color:window;color:windowtext;"></span> <span style="background-color:window;color:windowtext;">"Joe has led significant capital improvement projects including the design and construction of </span> <span style="background-color:window;color:windowtext;">new facilities while ensuring Phoenix remained committed to long-range planning strategies in sustainability and environmental protection,” said Zuercher. "His commitment to public service and asset management will ensure the continual exemplary service that Phoenix strives to deliver to its residents.”</span> </p> <p> <span style="background-color:window;color:windowtext;">Giudice has held a variety of executive positions at the city of Phoenix, including Environmental </span> <span style="background-color:window;color:windowtext;">Programs Administrator and Assistant Water Services Director.  Most recently, Giudice served as the Assistant Public Works Director, responsible for leading the Solid Waste Division which provides direct services to more than 400,000 Phoenix households, while overseeing an annual budget of approximately $160 million and more than 600 employees. </span> </p> <p> <span style="background-color:window;color:windowtext;">“I look forward to working alongside the dedicated public works team as we continue the city’s efforts of waste minimization, fleet electrification and energy efficient structures that are welcoming for the employees and the community,” Giudice said. </span> </p> <p> <span style="background-color:window;color:windowtext;"></span> <span style="background-color:window;color:windowtext;">Giudice earned both a master's degree in Public Administration and a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from Arizona State University. On July 27, 2021, the CDC updated that guidance to require masking indoors in communities with substantial or high virus transmission rates, regardless of vaccination status. Effective Monday, August 2, 2021​, masks are required in all city buildings.
