Don’t Miss Out! Spring Applications for Teen Volunteer Program Are Open!

S’edav Va’aki Museum is excited to announce that applications for the Spring Teen Volunteer Program are open!

Teens who participated in the fall program and wish to continue volunteering this spring semester will have the opportunity to become Teen Leaders. In this new position, Teen Leaders will help train new teen volunteers, facilitate existing activities, and help develop new program materials for the museum.

This fall, ten incredible teens gave over 100 hours of their time to the museum! From mastering real microscopes and leading the Parched exhibit activity to uncover tiny worlds in water samples, to guiding guests through Detective Archaeology and handling authentic artifacts, these teens brought science and history to life. Teen volunteers even had the chance to meet the City Archaeologist for an insider’s look at the profession!

Teen volunteers have become an integral part of annual events such as International Archaeology Day, where they tried atlatl spear throwing and crafted pinch pots. Just this past November, teens volunteered during the 7th Annual Portal Fest where they led activities all day long. Most recently, they immersed themselves in the vibrant traditions of the 48th Annual Indian Market decorating gourds, enjoying music and food, and celebrating culture.

This fall was more than just volunteering, it was hands-on learning, meeting new people, and making memories. Our teens did an incredible job during one of the museum’s busiest seasons.

Whether you're a new applicant or a returning volunteer, this is a fantastic opportunity to build professional skills in the museum industry, gain experience in a collaborative environment, and make a meaningful impact to the greater community.
