The City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department recently kicked off the Vision Zero Yard Sign Program, which focuses on influencing safer driving behavior in residential and business communities.
The free yard signs are offered to all Phoenix residents and business owners in English and Spanish, with two designs providing bright bold colors to help remind drivers to slow down and watch for pedestrians and bicyclists.
Based on recommendations by the Vision Zero Community Advisory Committee, this pilot program has been launched thanks to funding approved by the Phoenix City Council, as part of ongoing efforts to support the Road Safety Action Plan.
“We are happy to provide this service to the community, as we continue to explore different ways to engage Phoenix residents and help support safe driving throughout neighborhoods across the city,” said Brandy Kelso, Street Transportation Department Interim Director.
Signs can be picked up at any of the five Parks and Recreation Department community centers during their regular operating hours:
Goelet A.C. Beuf – 3435 W. Pinnacle Peak Rd.
Maryvale – 4420 N. 51st Ave.
Longview – 4040 N. 14th St.
Pecos – 17010 S. 48th St.
Cesar Chavez – 7858 S. 35th Ave.
Signs can also be picked up at Phoenix City Hall during normal operating hours, located at 200 W. Washington St., on the 5th Floor. Simply go to the receptionist desk and ask for a sign.
