To provide investigative services to the citizens of Phoenix and the department after duty hours
Organization
The Violent Crimes Bureau (Night Detectives) is commanded by a lieutenant and 4 sergeants. Hours covered are 1300 to 0700.
There are four investigative squads with 7 detective positions each. Night Detectives provide investigative services related to the following:
Crimes Investigated
- Homicides
- Assaults
- Robberies
- Death Investigations
- Any other investigation under the realm of VCB responsibilities assigned by a night detective supervisor
Support Services Provided
- Crime scene investigations
- Hospital follow- ups
- Search Warrants
- Witness/Suspect interviews
- FOJ requests
