Stage 1 Fire Restriction Activated
Due to elevated fire danger, the City of Phoenix has implemented Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.
All consumer fireworks are prohibited within one mile of mountain preserves, desert parks, regional parks, conservation areas, national forests, and wilderness areas.

The City of Phoenix created a Climate Action Plan, which will serve as a long-term plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from local operations and community activities as well as prepare for the impacts of climate change.
2021 Climate Action Plan
The plan was approved at the October 12, 2021 City Council Policy Session. Thank you to all city departments, organizations, and residents that provided input in the plan.

The Draft Climate Action Plan was available for public comments from June 1, 2021 to August 13, 2021. Phoenix resident could provide comments via survey, workshops, or email. We received 2,659 survey responses, 534 workshop participants, and 87 emails. A summary of the comments can be found here.

During the draft comment period the Office of Environmental Programs hosted 12 virtual workshops for residents to provide input on addressing climate change. All members of the public are welcome to attend and participate in any of the workshops. View previous workshop recordings
The Climate Action Plan Framework was open for public comments from October 2020 to February 2021. Phoenix resident could provide comments via survey form, workshops, or email. We recieved 707 total comments. A summary of the comments can be found here.
Through July and August 2020 the Climate Action Plan Community Survey was open for Phoenix residents and business owners to share their ideas and concerns to help inform actions the City of Phoenix and community could take to address climate change.
