Phoenix to Celebrate Awardees in Artists to Work Program
The City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture is celebrating 24 grant-awarded artists at the 2026 Artists to Work Reception and Showcase event at Rio Salado Audubon Center. Through the City’s Artists to Work grant program, each artist received $7500 to support the creation and presentation of original, new, or in-process artistic work that benefits the community.
The Office of Arts and Culture supported these incredible artists in 2025, and eight of those artists used funding to make an impact by paying it forward. An additional19 artists and cultural workers collaborated on projects, engaging a total of 43 creatives.
The showcase event will give artists an opportunity to share their work with hundreds of attendees in various art forms including visual, performance, poetry, and more. One of the artists, Adam Corona, will showcase a photography exhibition that pays homage to the Charrería in South Phoenix. His exhibition is titled, “Sometimes While Growing Up, You Find Yourself.”
“I think this exhibition is a direct reflection of the grant itself. It forced me to think of a bigger picture and this exhibition itself is the bigger picture,” said 2025 awardee Adam Corona. “It's reflected in the presentation of this exhibition--as a diaspora, we belong in these spaces. We deserve to be represented in this way.”
