Phoenix, Valley Metro to Host Open House on West Phoenix Extension Light Rail Project

Valley Metro and the City of Phoenix invite the community to an open house to learn more about the West Phoenix Extension light rail expansion project. The open house is a continued conversation aimed at hearing community hopes for this major infrastructure project from design through construction.

Attendees will have an opportunity to share what’s important to them, one-on-one interaction with Valley Metro and City of Phoenix staff, and provide current contact information, preferred language and method of communication for future project notifications. As no formal presentation will be given, attendees are welcome to stop in at any point during the event.

About the West Phoenix Light Rail Extension: The West Phoenix Light Rail Extension (WPE) is a proposed 10-mile light rail expansion that would connect west Phoenix to the existing Valley Metro Rail system. The proposed route would connect at either Indian School/Central Avenue or 19th Avenue/Camelback Road, then extend west along Indian School Road to 75th Avenue, turn south to Thomas Road, and end at the Desert Sky Transit Center at 79th Avenue and Thomas Road.
