What is Food Day?

Food Day is celebrated to inspire people to change the way we look at food, personally and collectively. Phoenix Food Day has been bringing education and entertainment together since 2014 to help the valley move towards a healthier future.

Eating healthy is good for you, the economy, and the environment!

Since 2019, Junior League of Phoenix has partnered with the City of Phoenix to add a Healthfest feature to the event, making it Phoenix Food Day & Healthfest. Last year, this included health screenings, child and adult fitness activities, and giveaways. We are grateful to Junior League for bringing their vast experience, enthusiasm, and community volunteerism to Food Day!

Register for a pickup time

Drive-thru and receive your goody bags filled with gift cards, prizes, recipes, gardening kits, health and wellness vouchers and kids activity kits.  Food boxes will also be available.

Due to the ongoing need to reduce COVID-19 transmission through social distancing, the event will pivot to a combination drive-thru and virtual event.

October 10, City of Phoenix and Junior League of Phoenix will host a drive-thru event at the Cartwright Community Garden & District Offices. We will be giving away goody bags for adults and school-aged children, which will include take home versions of the fun and healthy activities typical of Phoenix Food Day & Healthfest. There will also be special prize giveaways included in some lucky households' bags!

We also know how important demonstrations are in learning to garden and cook, and how much more fun a workout is with other people. Check back here as the event nears for more information about our Virtual Demos!

If you are a business or organization interested in contributing to the healthy goody bags, please contact Karen Ibarra at karen.ibarra@phoenix.gov and put "Food Day 2020" in the subject line.

Thank you to the Junior League of Phoenix!

Thank you to the Junior League of Phoenix and the Junior League Phoenix Foundation for their partnership for the next three years and the "Healthfest" feature.  We are excited to continue to work with the members of the Junior League and are grateful to them for bringing their vast experience, enthusiasm, and community volunteerism to Food Day.
