Swim, Dive and Water Basketball Teams

All 29 Phoenix Aquatics pools will be open to the public through July 29.

11 pools will be remain open on weekends from August 4 through September 3.

The following pools will remain open for weekends August 4 through September 3:
Cortez Pool, El Prado Pool, Encanto Pool, Falcon Pool, Hermoso Pool, Maryvale Pool, Paradise Valley Pool, Pecos Pool, Perry Pool, Sunnyslope Pool, Washington Pool


 

Register now for swimming lessons and aquatics programs online through the Phoenix Parks and Recreation registration website or in-person at one of the city's registration locations.


Swim Team

​​The city of Phoenix Recreational Swim Team is a six-week program designed to enhance and improve swimming strokes for children age 5 to 17. Participants are broken up into three age groups to practice and then compete in recreational meets against teams from other city pools. Practices include one hour of instruction four days per week (Monday through Thursday), with swim meets on Thursday at 7 p.m. at various pools.

Prerequisites: Participants must be able to swim 25 meters continuously using any one of the four competitive strokes.

Dive Team

The city of Phoenix Recreational Dive Team is a six-week program designed to enhance and improve diving skills for children age 5 to 17. Teams participate in recreational meets against teams from other city pools, competing based on age group. Practices include one hour of water instruction and may include 15 minutes of dry land warm-ups four days per week (Monday through Thursday), with dive meets on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at various pools.

Prerequisites: Participants must be comfortable swimming in deep water and be able to do a forward jump, backward jump and forward dive.

​Water Basketball Team

Water Basketball is a free program for children age 12 to 15. Practices are held Monday through Wednesday, with games on Thursday against eight other city pool teams. Travel for participants will be provided to and from the games. The program concludes with a double-elimination tournament and a three-point shootout competition.
