What is G.A.I.N.?
G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) is a day for Arizona to join forces and promote awareness, safety and neighborhood unity. G.A.I.N. showcases the importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight for a safer Arizona. On G.A.I.N. day (third Saturday in October), we invite neighborhoods to come together and make their community a safer, better place to live.
G.A.I.N. 2021 Information
It is that time of year!
After the 2020 COVID pandemic cancelled most of our social outdoor activities, Phoenix is ready to return to the "good ol days".
G.A.I.N. is back and we are excited to see everyone once again.
The plan for 2021 G.A.I.N. is going to move forward as follows:
October 02, 2021 | 10:00am - Noon
Christown Spectrum Mall
1703 W. Bethany Home Rd.
If the COVID cases increase and the state decides to place restrictions, we will move outside as a drive thru style event.
Vendors who are participating will be aware of the alterations as the event moves closer.
October 16, 2021 (National) and October 23, 2021 (Phoenix)
The Phoenix Police Department recognizes that the National Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods, GAIN event is scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2021. However, this year due to Covid restrictions, October 16, 2021 was the re-scheduled date for the National Police Week Memorial in Washington DC.
As a large contingent of police staff will be attending the national memorial event to honor two of our own fallen Phoenix Police Officers - Officer Paul Rutherford and Commander Greg Carnicle, the Police Department and City of Phoenix will be moving GAIN to the following weekend, Saturday, October 23, 2021.
We welcome and invite all communities to join us on October 23, 2021 as we continue to join together in promoting awareness, safety and neighborhood unity. Groups wishing to gather on October 16, 2021 are still welcome to do so.
Register your G.A.I.N. event by September 17, 2021 to receive the “Crime Prevention Tote” .
Thank you for understanding and stay safe.
