Holiday Collection Schedule

Changes in collection day only occurs on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. During the rest of the holidays, Public Works staff will be working to collect your trash and recycling as regularly scheduled.

Holidays with a Change in Collection Day 

Solid waste collections will not be provided on Thanksgiving Day (November 23, 2023). For customers with collection normally scheduled on Thursday, trash and recycling will be collected on Friday, November 24. Friday collection that week will happen on Saturday, November 25.

Solid waste collections will not be provided on Christmas Day (Monday, December 25, 2023). All solid waste collections will be pushed back by one day that week, starting with Monday’s collections being provided on Tuesday, and ending with Friday’s collections being provided on Saturday. 

Solid waste collections will not be provided on New Year’s Day (Monday, January 1, 2024). All solid waste collections will be pushed back by one day that week, starting with Monday’s collections being provided on Tuesday, and ending with Friday’s collections being provided on Saturday.​


Holidays with NO Change in Collection Day

As a reminder, Public Works staff will be working to collect trash and recycling as regularly scheduled for the following holidays (no change in collection day), but city disposal facilities​ will be closed to the public: 

  • Martin Luther King Day 
  • President's Day 
  • Cesar Chavez Day 
  • Memorial Day
  • Juneteenth
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Indigenous Peoples'​ Day
  • Veterans Day
