​​​​​Water Services Department Internship Program​

The Water Services Department (WSD)​ has an internship program for college students who are interested in gaining work experience with a municipal utility.

The department has two types of internships open to students:

• Engineering – Open to students who are seeking an internship to fulfill a requirement for their degree.
• Business Operations – All other internships, which range in specialty depending on the need of the hiring division.

These opportunities will put interns in a position to gain experience relevant to their studies and gain insight into government and the operations of a local water utility.

The Water Services Department typically recruits each semester, and internships will be located at Phoenix City Hall or at a Water Production or Wastewater Treatment Plant. ​The positions are up to 20 hours per week, and typically between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
