Violent Crimes Homicide Investigations

Purpose Statement

The purpose of the Homicide Unit is to ensure the safety and security of each person in our community by conducting initial and follow-up investigations thoroughly, completely and ethically.

Organization

The Homicide Unit is commanded by a Lieutenant. There are four response squads, one cold case squad and a resource squad that also handles foreign prosecution. The unit also has one secretary and two police assistants.

The Homicide Unit is primarily a daytime investigations unit with detectives available for call-out 24hrs a day.
