Parks Master Plan Enters Next Phase of Public Engagement

The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is moving into the next phase of public engagement for the Parks Master Plan, a comprehensive roadmap that will guide the future of the City’s parks, recreation facilities, and programming.

In 2024, the department invited residents to share their ideas and priorities through an online survey to help shape the future of Phoenix parks. Now, building on that valuable feedback, the City is launching a round of community events across Phoenix to dive deeper into themes that emerged from the survey. These events will give residents another opportunity to discuss potential strategies, improvements, and priorities for their neighborhoods.

This next phase is all about collaboration and refinement,” said Cynthia Aguilar, Director of the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department. “We’ve heard from thousands of residents about what they value most in our parks system. Now, we’re taking that input and working together to develop a shared vision that will guide how we invest in and care for our parks for years to come.”

Residents are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming community engagement events to learn more and share their feedback:

Each event will also feature family-friendly activities, games, and giveaways, making it easy for residents of all ages to participate. Attendees will learn about key elements of the Master Plan and have the opportunity to connect with Parks and Recreation staff, neighbors, and others who care about the future of Phoenix’s shared outdoor spaces.

The Parks Master Plan will serve as a long-term guide for decision-making, funding priorities, and program development, ensuring the City’s park system continues to meet the needs of its growing and diverse communities.
