Youth Programs

The City of Phoenix Water Services Department knows that creating a PHX Water Smart community starts with its youth!

Phoenix Save Water Youth Center is a hub for water conservation resources, all of which can help students think critically about water resources and using water more efficiently in a desert city. Explore the pages below to find resources and events for the youth in your life.

Meet our Mascots!

Before you dive into being a Phoenix Water steward, you need to meet our Water Smart mascots: Wayne Drop, Stormwater Hopper, and Mr. Loo Poo!

In the Spotlight: The Water Smart Teaching Program

Water Smart Teaching is a fun and interactive program for educators to learn about water conservation in Phoenix! You'll get easy-to-use lessons and activities to teach your students how to save water and protect our environment.

Learn more on the Water Smart Teaching page here.

In June 2025, Phoenix teachers joined us at 4 workshops, each with new topics, delicious food, and practical ideas for teaching. Join us next summer to learn about water conservation education, get Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and even be entered into a drawing for a water treatment plant tour for your class! Stay tuned for our next round of teacher workshops in 2026, but for now, click the button below to join our ongoing cohort of teachers!
