If payment is received after the quarter/period begins, a penalty will be assessed. If payment is received during the first month of the quarter/period it will be considered late and will incur a 10% penalty. If payment is received during the second month of the quarter an additional 5% penalty will be charged. If payment is not received until the third month an additional 5% penalty will be charged. Therefore, if payment is not received by the third month of the quarter/period the total penalty will be 20% of the amount owed for that quarter/period.
