Accessibility Development Guidelines (ADA and FHA)

​​​​​​​​The Phoenix Construction Code meets the requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Fair Housing Act (FHA). 

The requirements for accessibility are found in the following currently adopted city codes and standards:

  • 2018 International Residential Code (IRC)
  • 2018 International Building Code (IBC)
  • 2018​ International Existing Building Code (IEBC) 
  • International Code Council (ICC A117.1 – 2009 (ANSI))  ​
    • Publication not available to download on-line but can be purchased from several sources
  • 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design
