Solid Waste Administrative Internship

The Solid Waste Administrative Internship Program attracts undergraduate-level students interested in a solid waste management, sustainability, circular economy and environmentally focused career within the public sector. Interns assist management staff in researching and implementing innovative solid waste practices designed to increase operational efficiency within the program and enhance solid waste services for customers​.

​New recruitment is currently closed with an anticipated opening of March 2021. The recruitment will be posted on the city of Phoenix job site.​

​Communications Internship

The communications intern is responsible for producing, writing and managing the Reimagine Phoenix video segments promoted on social media, YouTube and PHXTV. The successful candidate also will support writing various documents including awards, grant applications and do research on these and multi-media, marketing and advertising trends.

Alex Johnson, an Arizona native, will be supporting Public Works communications projects. He earned his Bachelor's at Arizona State University in communication and sustainable tourism. He has experience in video, photography, research and sales, and he comes to us from the Arizona Worm Farm. Previous to that he was an intern at Riester, a public relations agency.
