Overview
As an Electrician Apprentice, you will learn to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment. You will become knowledgeable in various aspects of energy conservation, medium voltage systems, airfield lighting, and water/wastewater treatment operations, in both commercial and industrial applications.
Apprentices must successfully and satisfactorily complete all assigned classroom and equipment training, 8,000 on-the-job training (OJT) hours, and a minimum of 900 related training instruction hours. During this period of the program, apprentices will be non-classified and paid as an Electrician apprentice. After successful completion of all requirements, apprentices will be promoted to the Electrician classification and complete a 12-month probationary period.
