Overview
As a Finance Procurement Officer (FPO) Apprentice, you will learn about public procurement through on-the-job training and professional coursework which will enable you to become proficient at leading various types of competitive procurement processes and developing, negotiating and administering contracts. The program culminates when you obtain a designation as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) by the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council.
Apprentices must successfully and satisfactorily complete all assigned classroom and 6,000 on-the-job training (OJT) hours and 432 related training instruction hours. During this period of the program, apprentices will be non-classified and paid as a FPO apprentice. After successful completion of all requirements, apprentices will be promoted into the FPO classification and complete a 12-month probationary period.
