The Human Services Department – Workforce Development Division offers career services, training, and job search support to help Phoenix residents find employment, enhance their skills, and secure long-term career success.

Our Services Include:

Adult and Dislocated Worker Program

Our workforce specialists help you identify strengths, grow your skills, and access job opportunities through:

Who May Qualify?

• Adults (over age 18) looking for employment
• Dislocated Workers who have recently been laid off 
• Displaced Homemakers (due to divorce, separation, or loss of spouse's income)
• Transitioning Military Members & Veterans (other than a dishonorable discharge) that is within 12 months of separating, or within 24 months of retirement, or recently separated veterans who are within 48 months of discharge.
• Workers certified under a Petition for Trade Adjustment Assistance under the Trade Act of 1974

Training Assistance

Eligible individuals may qualify for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding for short-term training programs in targeted industries. Training funds are limited and not guaranteed.

Stevens Amendment Funding Disclosure: The Title I Adult and Dislocated Worker programs are 100% funded by the Department of Labor in the amount of $4,034,960.00

ARIZONA@WORK City of Phoenix products and services are made available through federal funding provided by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) serving employers by aiding job seekers, adults, dislocated workers, and youth. WIOA establishes a priority requirement for the use of funds for adult individualized career and training services. Under WIOA, priority is given to public assistance recipients (TANF, SNAP, SSI), low-income individuals, or individuals who are basic skills deficient for adult individualized career and training services. Veterans and eligible spouses in these groups receive top priority.
