Victim Impact Statement

As a crime victim, one of the most important rights you have is to let the court know, at sentencing, how the crime has affected you and your family.  You can let the judge know what punishment or other consequences you think the defendant should receive, such as jail, probation, counseling, etc. A Victim Impact Statement helps to ensure your right to be heard even if you cannot personally appear at sentencing. This is especially important because a defendant may plead and be sentenced at any court setting.

*The Victim Impact Statement is not confidential. Do not include your address and phone number in the statement.

A COPY OF ANYTHING SUBMITTED WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE COURT AND THE DEFENDANT
