Mission Statement

The mission of the Violent Crimes Bureau is to support the Phoenix Police Department's purpose of ensuring the safety and security of each person in our community by conducting initial follow-up investigations thoroughly, completely and ethically.

Organization

The Violent Crimes Bureau is one of the largest bureaus in the Phoenix Police Department. There are approximately 180 employees assigned to VCB making up 6 separate work units. Some of these units investigate crimes such as homicide, robbery, aggravated assault, assault, and stalking. Other units aggressively search for violent felons. VCB fulfills the responsibility of 24 hour coverage with an information desk staffed by administrative personnel and a supervisor.
