Girasol Apartments
November 2025 Update:
One year after breaking ground, construction is well underway at Girasol Apartments, which will help revitalize the historic Edison-Eastlake community. 145 outdated public housing units will be replaced with 364 modern, mixed-income units.
Once complete, the community will have a garden, splash pad, playgrounds, sports court, fitness equipment and more. Named Girasol, it's the Spanish translation for sunflower. The project symbolizes growth, accessibility, and hope for the neighborhood's future. The development is supported by voter-approved GO Bond funding.
The goal is to have residents move in by early 2027.
