55th Avenue from Thomas Road to Camelback Road

About the Project

The Phoenix Street Transportation Department is proposing an update to the parking and bike lanes on 55th Avenue from Thomas Road to Camelback Road.

If approved, the timeline for the project would be summer 2023.

Project Details

The department is proposing three options for this area:

  1. Option A: Keep the current design on 55th Avenue.
  2. Option B: Update 55th Avenue to allow for continuous bike lanes and reduced on-street parking.
  3. Option C: Update 55th Avenue to allow for continuous bike lanes with buffers and restrict almost all on-street parking, offering very little on-street parking.

Live Virtual Public Meeting

A live virtual public meeting was held on November 30, 2022 at 6 p.m. via Webex to discuss the project and the proposed updates.

A video recording of the meeting is posted on this page and is also available to view on YouTube.

Project Survey

A project survey was available from November 30 to December 28, 2022. The Street Transportation Department thanks those who participated and shared feedback during the first round of public engagement.

The department wishes to gather additional input and reopened the survey through March 31, 2023.
