About the Project

The City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department is proposing an update to the bike lanes on Thomas Road from 48th Street to 56th Street. The proposal calls for bike lanes on each side of the road with two driving lanes in each direction and with a center turn lane. This project would create a balanced roadway with minimal traffic impacts.

If approved, the timeline for the project would begin with construction in late 2022 or early 2023.

City of Scottsdale's Plan

The proposed updates that the City of Phoenix is proposing would match the future striping pattern east of 56th Street, where the City of Scottsdale is planning to also balance the traffic lanes and adding bike lanes.

A link to the City of Scottsdale's plan will be posted here when it becomes available.
