Final Decision

After more than a year of analyzing and submitting reports, hosting community surveys, hosting community meetings and creating alternative plans -- a final design was formulated and finalized. See below for the project detail plans as well as the proposed timeline for when these improvements would happen to both the north and south side of the road:

  • Fall 2022: Tree planting near the canal (completed)
  • 2023 pavement treatment: Extending the buffered bike lanes and center turn lanes (anticipated to be performed summer/fall 2023)
  • Potential Capital Improvement Plan Project: Sidewalk improvements on both sides of the street
  • Potential Capital Improvement Plan Project: Underground utilities on the south side of the street

The total cost estimate for these improvements would be: $3.6 million.
